A group of 30 Adelaide tradies are fuming that their free breakfast at Bunnings has been bumped with no warning.
Even though Bunnings sent the invitations by text message, confirming the exact time and date when the breakfast would happen, Bunnings decided at the last moment that they would make more money somewhere else and diverted their staff to another job.
'It's an outrage' said one tradie. 'If I had of known the breakfast wasn't on I wouldn't of bumped two customers this morning to attend the breakfast. Now I'm out of pocket and hungry'.
'There was no prior warning' said another tradie, who did not wish to be identified, but we will call him Aaron.
'Total no show' said Aaron. 'I got up early, came to Bunnings and where was the breakfast BBQ?? What did I find - sweet FA!'.
Instead of a breakfast there was a handwritten sign saying:
'No Breakfast. Bunning's will touch base with you about our next availability. Breakfast might be held next week Wednesday sometime between 8am and midday, or if we don't do it then, the breakfast will be at 6pm the following Tuesday, or if that is not suitable, then Bunnings will try and reschedule. Thank you for your patience'.
A spokesman for Bunnings was not available.
When tradies were asked about their own habit of leaving clients waiting for them, cancelling and bumping jobs at short notice because they could make more money on another job the general feedback was: 'I don't understand what you are saying. It must be a problem with you'.
